Health Screening

  • Recent medical reports, laboratory results, X-ray films (if any).
  • Letter of Guarantee from an approved company.
  • Identity Card or Birth Certificate if under 12 years of age (for Malaysian).
  • Passport (Foreigners).

The lifestyle and stresses of modern living or family medical history can have an adverse impact on your health by predisposing you to silent killers such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancers. Health screenings help you find out if you have a particular disease or condition even if you feel perfectly well, without any symptoms and/or signs of disease. Early detection, followed by prompt treatment can delay the onset of complications and results in better long term outcomes.

This is a personal decision based on your risk factors and previous screening results. Generally we recommend screening once every two years for those aged 40 and below, yearly screening for those aged 40 and above. For those aged 50 years and above, screening should be biannually.

You can receive your report within as little as 1 day to 3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the tests. We ensure the utmost confidentiality throughout the process.

If your screening results are normal, you should continue to go for regular screening at the recommended frequency because screening only detects health conditions that are present at the time of screening. If you develop signs or symptoms after your screening, please see your doctor – do not wait for your next screening appointment.

If your screening results are abnormal, you should follow-up with your doctor immediately even if you feel perfectly well.   Early detection, followed by prompt treatment can delay the onset of complications and results in better long term outcomes.

Yes. Most diseases are asymptomatic and without routine screening, it is undetectable in earlier stages. With screening, there is an opportunity for early detection and to halt the disease progress at the initial stage. Hence, it is important for you to go for regular screening tests at the recommended frequency.

In most circumstances, your obstetrician/gynaecologist would have conducted the appropriate tests for you. Please consult them to find out if a health screening is necessary for you.

The screening will be conducted by a team of certified and experienced medical professionals consisting of a General Physician, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Medical Officer, Sonographer, Nurses, Radiographer and Laboratory Technologists.

Yes. A lot of diseases can be detected from the results obtained through screening tests before you notice any changes in your body. With earlier detection, one can start making diet and lifestyle changes before it progresses too far where medication comes into the picture.

Health Screening

  • Fast 8-10 hours prior to appointment (no food or beverage intake from 12midnight, with the exception of plain water)
  • Postpone your routine morning medication until your blood sample is taken (except anti-hypertensive drugs).
  • For ladies, pap smear, urine and stool tests should be done seven days after the last day of menstruation as the presence of blood in these tests would produce inaccurate results.

Exercise Stress Test

  • Please bring along your exercise shoes and attire.
  • Do not smoke on the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid having a heavy meal before treadmill. A light meal is advisable 2-4 hours before testing, to be taken without any butter, cream, caffeine or alcohol.
  • Do inform our staff during registration if you experience chest pain / discomfort / tightness or if you have undergone balloon angioplasty, stenting and bypass surgery.
  • If you are on medications such as beta-blockers (e.g. propranolol or atenolol), please consult your doctor whether to stop the medications before the test date.

Ultrasound

  • Fasting is mandatory for patients who will be taking the ultrasound upper abdomen.
  • Avoid urinating for about one hour prior to ultrasound pelvis. Patients will be required to drink several glasses of water to ensure the bladder is full.

X-ray

  • Please inform our staff during registration if you are pregnant, or suspected to be pregnant.

Aesthetic Medicine

Botulinum Toxin Injection

The time varies depending on the area to be injected. Normally, the whole process takes less than one hour. Your doctor will discuss your treatment goals and perform an in-depth facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.

Treatment requires minimal downtime. So you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave your doctor’s office.

You may begin to notice results within 2-3 days, with results lasting up to 6-8 months for moderate to severe frown lines. Remember that results vary from patient to patient though, so your doctor will plan your next appointment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

Treatment depends on individual goals and needs. When you meet with your doctor, he or she will determine the appropriate treatment for any areas you wish to address, including moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines.

Typically: For the crow’s feet area, your specialist will inject 3 areas of the muscle that frames the side of the eye. This will be repeated on the muscle that frames the other eye. For the frown lines area, your specialist will administer 3-5 tiny injections into the muscles between your brows and in your forehead. For the forehead lines area, your specialist will administer 3-5 tiny injections into the muscle in your forehead.

Side effects from a Botulinum Toxin treatment may include minimal bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness around the injection site, all of which will resolve without intervention after a few days to a week.

Fillers

Dermal fillers are substance/gels derived from Hyaluronic Acid, injected beneath the skin’s surface to smooth wrinkles and add volume and contour. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the wrinkle treated.

As we age, the bones and the soft tissue dissolve and contribute to appearance of sagging. Dermal fillers may be used to replace this volume loss and restore the structural support, giving the patient a more youthful appearance. The areas which can be treated with dermal fillers include the cheekbones, chin, temples for volume restoration and the nose/jawline for volume contouring.

Results are seen instantly after the treatment, and will gradually improve over the course of the following 2–4 weeks. Normally, results can last between 9–18 months and can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments.

Possible side effects from dermal fillers may include bruising or redness which will resolve itself within a week time. Other complications involving fillers injection depending on treatment areas will be further discussed with you during your consultation with our doctors.

There is no downtime for fillers and you can return to your normal daily activities right after an injection. However, it is advisable to avoid extreme heat (sun bed or sauna) or intense cold after fillers injection.

Lasers

Each person’s skin is different – so your response will vary, but the majority of our treatments require minimal downtime.

The number of required treatments varies from person to person, depending on several factors. These factors include a person’s skin type, skin colour, the area being treated, as well as the desired results. While a difference in the skin’s appearance will be noticeable after just one treatment, it may take longer to remove deep tissue discoloration and/or birthmarks. Your doctor will discuss your treatment goals and perform an in-depth facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.

On average, treatments take around 30 – 45 minutes. This, of course, depends of the size of the area being treated and is based on a standard facial treatment.

This varies from patient to patient. Most patients can have laser once every 4 to 6 weeks. Your doctor will tell you when it is safe to have another treatment.

A mild to moderate redness may occur and should fade several hours after treatment. Post treatment care includes application of broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

It is recommended that patients protect their skin from the sun after the procedure by applying broad spectrum sunscreen to prevent further UVA/UVB skin damage.

Microneedling

The whole process usually takes less than one hour.

The downtime is short. Mild redness and swelling over the treatment area usually last less than a day or two, followed by transient mild flaking as the skin renews.

You may begin to notice results within a week, with results lasting up to 3-6 months. Results vary from patient to patient and the cumulative effect of previous treatments.

Your doctor will plan your next appointment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

The procedure is very well-tolerated and causes minimal discomfort, if at all. Side effects may include mild swelling, mild redness, mild tenderness or mild superficial skin flaking at the treatment area, all of which will resolve in less than a week. Appropriate skin care after the procedure expedites skin healing.

Freeze-dried platelet (FDP-2B)

Freeze-dried platelets (FDP-2B) is a blood-derived product created by breaking down platelets to release growth factors, then preserving them through freeze-drying. Rich in bioactive molecules/growth factors, it may be used for skin regeneration and hair growth.

The downtime is minimal. You may be able to resume your usual daily activities almost immediately after treatment.

You may begin to notice results within a week, with results lasting up to 3-6 months. Results vary from patient to patient and the cumulative effect from previous treatments, so your doctor will plan your next appointment based on your results and aesthetic goals.

Freeze-dried platelet (FDP-2B) is a very safe treatment as it is produced from your blood and used only on you. Most side effects are related to the intradermal injection or microneedling procedure, which may include bruising, redness, swelling, or skin flaking. Rest assured, all the side effects are mild and resolve in less than a week without any intervention.

There is minimal downtime and you can return to your normal daily activities right after a treatment. However, it is advisable to avoid extreme heat (sun bed or sauna) or extreme sports right after a treatment.
